Zero-Tolerance Policy

Champaran College of Professional Education strictly adheres to the directives of the Honorable Supreme Court of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) regarding the absolute prohibition of ragging in higher educational institutions.

We maintain a "Zero-Tolerance" policy towards ragging. The Anti-Ragging Cell functions as a vigilant supervisory committee to ensure that our campus, hostels, and surrounding premises remain entirely free from any form of physical or mental harassment. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming, secure, and supportive environment for all freshers and junior students.

Objectives of the Cell

To absolutely prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
To monitor and oversee the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squads in prevention of ragging in the institution.
To organize awareness programs and counseling sessions to educate students about the severe legal and academic consequences of ragging.
To take swift, strict, and uncompromising disciplinary action against any individual found guilty of participating in or abetting ragging.

What Constitutes Ragging?

Ragging encompasses a wide range of abusive behaviors. It includes, but is not limited to:

Psychological Abuse

Rowdy or undisciplined activities that cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm, or raise fear or apprehension in a junior student.

Academic Disruption

Any act that prevents, disrupts, or disturbs the regular academic activity of any student or forces them to perform academic tasks for seniors.

Financial Extortion

Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by senior students.

Physical & Verbal Abuse

Any act of physical abuse, sexual abuse, stripping, forced obscene acts, or verbal abuse including insults based on caste, religion, or gender.

Consequences of Ragging

Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offense, those found guilty may face severe disciplinary actions, which can include:

Immediate suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
Withholding or withdrawing scholarships and other benefits.
Debarring from appearing in any test, examination, or placement drive.
Suspension or expulsion from the hostel.
Rustication from the institution and debarring from admission to any other institution.
Filing of a First Information Report (FIR) with local police authorities under appropriate penal laws.
