Reservation Policy

Reservation Policy

Ensuring equitable access to quality education and promoting inclusivity across all sections of society.

Commitment to Inclusive Education

Champaran College of Professional Education is deeply committed to the principles of social justice, equity, and inclusion. We believe that higher education should be accessible to all deserving candidates, irrespective of their socio-economic background.

In pursuit of this goal, the college strictly follows the reservation policies and guidelines mandated by the Government of Bihar, the affiliating university, and relevant statutory regulatory bodies for all admission processes.

Categories for Reservation

Seats are reserved in various academic programs for candidates belonging to specific categories, subject to the prevailing state government roster. These generally include:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC) & Scheduled Tribes (ST): Reserved percentage as per the latest government notifications to support historically marginalized communities.
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) & Extremely Backward Classes (EBC): Allotment for candidates belonging to recognized backward classes (Non-Creamy Layer).
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): Specific quota dedicated to unreserved category candidates who meet the economic criteria set by the government.
  • Women Candidates: Horizontal reservation for female candidates across categories in accordance with state policies to promote women's empowerment in professional education.
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD) / Divyangjan: Reservation provisions for differently-abled candidates to ensure a barrier-free and supportive academic journey.

Documentary Requirements

Candidates seeking admission under any reserved category must claim their status at the time of application. To successfully avail the benefits of the reservation policy, applicants are required to produce the following original, valid documents issued by the competent authority during the counseling and document verification process:

  • Valid Caste / Category Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/EBC candidates).
  • Recent Income Certificate / Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate, if applicable.
  • EWS Certificate issued by a designated government officer.
  • Medical Certificate of Disability (for PwD candidates) issued by a recognized medical board.
  • Residential / Domicile Certificate of the State of Bihar (mandatory for state-specific reservation quotas).

Important Guidelines

1. Subject to Change: The reservation policy, including quota percentages, is subject to modifications based on periodic gazette notifications from the State Government or directives from the affiliating university.

2. Verification: Admission granted under a reserved category is strictly provisional until all supporting documents are verified. Any discrepancy or submission of invalid documents will result in the immediate cancellation of admission.

3. Vacant Seats: In the event that seats reserved for specific categories remain vacant after the final round of counseling, they may be converted and filled by general merit candidates, strictly following the regulatory guidelines.
