Sexual Harassment Committee

Sexual Harassment Committee

Committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and dignified campus culture for all individuals.

Overview

Champaran College of Professional Education is dedicated to providing a safe and harassment-free educational and working environment. In strict compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, and the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the institution has constituted a dedicated Sexual Harassment Committee.

The committee proactively works to prevent any instances of sexual harassment on campus and provides a highly confidential, sensitive, and impartial mechanism for the redressal of complaints. We believe that every student, faculty member, and staff employee has the fundamental right to work and study in an atmosphere free from intimidation, hostility, and offensive behavior.

Objectives of the Committee

  • To comprehensively prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against any individual on the campus.
  • To promote gender sensitization and awareness through regular seminars, workshops, and campaigns.
  • To provide a secure and confidential platform for victims to come forward and file grievances without fear of retaliation.
  • To conduct fair, unbiased, and time-bound inquiries into all formal complaints and recommend appropriate disciplinary action.

What Constitutes Sexual Harassment?

Visual Harassment

Hostile Environment

Complaint Procedure & Confidentiality

Any individual who feels they have been subjected to sexual harassment can approach the committee.

  • Lodging a Complaint: Complaints can be submitted in writing to the Chairperson of the committee or sent via the official confidential email address designated for such grievances.
  • Absolute Confidentiality: The identity of the complainant and the details of the incident are strictly protected to ensure privacy and prevent any form of retaliation.
  • Support Mechanisms: The committee ensures that the complainant receives necessary administrative, psychological, and, if required, legal guidance during the resolution process.
  • Disciplinary Action: If the respondent is found guilty, the administration will enforce severe disciplinary measures, which may include suspension, termination of employment, rustication, or reporting to law enforcement authorities.
