Sexual Harassment Committee (Internal Complaint Committee - ICC)

Champaran College of Professional Education (CCPEUS) maintains a Zero-Tolerance Policy against sexual harassment in all its forms. In compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the college has constituted the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) to function as the dedicated body for preventing and redressing issues related to sexual harassment.

The Committee is committed to providing a safe, secure, and dignified environment for all members of the college community, including students, faculty, and staff.

What is Sexual Harassment?

Sexual harassment, under the Act, includes any unwelcome act or behavior, whether directly or by implication, such as:

  • Physical contact and advances.
  • A demand or request for sexual favors.
  • Making sexually colored remarks.
  • Showing pornography or any other offensive material.
  • Any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.

Filing a Complaint

Any aggrieved person (student, faculty, staff, or contractual employee) who experiences or witnesses an incident of sexual harassment within the campus or at any college-related activity should report the matter immediately.

Procedure for Reporting:

  1. The aggrieved person must submit a written complaint to any member of the ICC within three months of the date of the incident.
  2. The complaint will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and sensitivity. The identity of the complainant and the process details will not be disclosed.
  3. The ICC will initiate an inquiry according to the statutory norms and complete the process in a time-bound manner, ensuring both parties receive a fair opportunity to be heard.
